Every parent has a story to tell about his or her child. Uniquely designed, wonderfully prepared, and purposefully created by our loving God for His own glory and pleasure, a child is nothing short of a miracle. The Holy Bible speaks of God’s intimate wisdom of every human individual. “For you formed my inward parts; You knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; My soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, When I was being made in secret, Intricately woven in the depths of the earth.” (Psalm 139:13-15) All parents who have lost a child also have a story to tell. Because a child’s life is such a miracle, a child’s death is nothing short of a tragedy. As a parent, you experience raw pain and grief, and a real sense of loss and distress that cannot be minimized or ignored. You ride an agonizing emotional roller coaster during the days, weeks, and even years following the loss of your child. But inevitably—mercifully—healing comes, though it may progress at an interminable pace. For those who trust Jesus Christ, you know that our loving Father knows the full extent of your pain, and He is victorious over it. God’s overwhelming love gives us strength to triumph over our suffering. As Paul so marvelously said in his letter to the Philippians, “I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:13) I feel compelled to share my story because I am living testimony to God’s sovereignty, compassion, and provision, even in the midst of despair, grief, and pain. This is my story about how God took our beautiful daughter Cyndy and used her to exalt Him and bring us closer to Him. Cyndy died when she was only eleven years old. When your child dies for any reason, your immediate reaction is a very real hatred towards God. You exchange his goodness for evil, and his mercy for unfairness. In fact, you are so infuriated with God that you turn your back on Him completely. But He never turns his back on you. My family and I were stuck in anger and sorrow for years, but God is faithful. Now we can exalt God with all our heart, and we acknowledge His love for us and the perfection of His plan for Cyndy. Her short life here on earth has influenced many people’s souls for eternity. Because Cyndy was part of our lives, we are better for it. In addition, although our pain was real, God has given us joy that is just as strong. This is the hope we desire to give you—a love story of Christ and how He blesses us in our sorrow! Now sit down, put your feet up (do not forget to get your tissues), and hear how God used a handicapped child to do His will.

The scripture is from either King James or the English Standard Bibles
