For anyone who has lost a child, finding comfort and justification is very difficult.

      Anne H. Harrell who grew up in Waverly, has shared her agony when her child Cyndy was born with disabilities that changed her life and that of her family in many ways. Anne Harrell is the former Anne Harrison, daughter of Mr and Mrs James T. Harrison, Jr. Anne is the wife of Mark W. Harrell, Sr. of Chesapeake.

     Anne gives an inspiring account of her amazing child Cyndy, along with accounts written by her doctor who treated Cyndy. Dr. Larry E. White is a practicing child neurologist at the Children's Hospital of Kings Daughters in Norfolk. The book is entitled Cyndy's Blessed Assurance "A Child Who Challenged Litmits and Changed Lives."

     The story begains with Cyndy's troubled birth, and incredible medical treatment and care given by her caring doctor and staff. The story also covers what happens after Cyndy's death on January 1,1997. The story covers what happens when Anne losing and regaining her entire family due to misinformed authorities. Five of Anne and Mark's children have mild to severe disabilities.

      Dr. Larry E. White has been in practice for over 30 years, and is certified in Pediatrics and Neurology/Child Neurology. He took his medical training at the University of Tennessee Medical School in Memphis, and then pediatric training at David Grant USAF Medical Center in California. After four years of general pediatrics practice, he did additional training in neurology and child neurology at the Medical College of Virginia and the Eastern Virginia Medical School. He served as a child neurologist in the Air Force for 14 years. He eventually returned to Norfolk as a civillian in 1988.

      Together Harrell and White give witness to the abiding faith that carried Anne and her family through the highs ans lows of Cyndy's illness.
